Road Trip

Back in June, we took a road trip to Birmingham and Langston, Alabama, Atlanta and finally Augusta.  We had such a fun time visiting family and friends and just relaxing.  Thank you everyone for having us!  First, we went to Birmingham to visit Jacob's sister and we also stopped by to play with some old friends along the way.

Little MM was so kind to let us invade her toys.

Here are my dear friend's little boys.

Yes, it was hot in Birmingham, but here's a shot of the mommas.

We also had a picnic at the botanical gardens with Suz and Jason (my sweet SIL and BIL).

They just played and played.

Until they were worn out.  They ended up taking super naps that day.

Suz and Jason were so kind to watch C and F for the afternoon/evening while Jacob and I drove up to Florence to see one of his good friends from residency get married.  Here is a pic that Suz snapped (with her her cool iphone) on the way to the yogurt shop.  How sweet.

We spent Sunday morning in a cute little town, Helena, playing in the water.  We also got to visit our old church that evening.   Nice to see familiar faces even after being gone 2 years.

Next we drove up the road to Langston to visit Jacob's aunt and uncle who live on Lake Guntersville.  It is always a treat to spend time with them - good food and wine, fun play time, and great company.

After spending a few relaxing days there, we drifted on down the road.

And stopped in Atlanta to visit Aunt Laura.

And her new baby Lucy.

Final stop, Augusta, to spend the night with Grandmother and Grandfather.  We had more water time on an afternoon boat ride.

Aunt Miriam played with us too.

And finally, we arrived home to this.

Our air conditioner "kill switch" wasn't working properly so water leaked from our attic all into our hallway and Charles' room.   Thanks to our insurance company, we got a good paint job out of it!
