A Bicycle!

Will post more pics of Charles's 3rd birthday soon, but scanning through and thought these few bicycle ones were too cute not to post pronto.  He started off nervous and wanting Daddy to push, but now he rides it everywhere!  He absolutely loves it and asks to ride his bicycle constantly.

Frances One Year Pics

Although three months late in taking her one year pics, Frances is documented none the less. Sometimes I feel guilty because the second child doesn't have a scrapbook or babybook filled out to completely, or she doesn't have 3, 6, 9 month professional pictures, but I need to look at the big picture - she is loved so much and all the "little" stuff will eventually get done.

This past Monday while Charles was at school, I decided to take a few shots in downtown Charleston with my favorite girl. We had so much fun - watching her wander around getting excited about the horses on the carriage tours, the dogs, a sign that she can bang against a wall. I must say it is quite difficult to catch that perfect shot when the subject is on the go. I am trying to be cost effective and take my own pictures with our fancy camera...so this is a start to my new hobby. What do you think?

The Butterfly and Pirate

We had a wonderful Halloween this year - enjoying neighborhood potluck dinner and then off to trick or treat. Now if we could have taken the 85 degree weather, gnats and Jacob's swine flu out of the picture, it would have been perfect, but oh well. So cute to see how Charles got the hang of it this year as compared to last. We made it to about 5 houses, which was plenty of candy for our little pirate. His favorite part was handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. He held the bowl out, and said "two for you, and two for you..." Adorable...

Children's Museum

Some sweet siblings of Jacob's (now my siblings too!) gave me a Children's Museum membership for my bday in September. I must say it is great. They have a series of rooms - ball room, boat room, water room, grocery store, and play room. Charles' favorite room is the boat of course and Frances' is the balls. We had a blast last week...they have fun and come home tired. Need I say more?

Julianna's Wedding

I am way behind on posting, but life has been a little crazy these days to say the least. Jacob's sister, Julianna, got married in August. Everything about the festivities was wonderful - the bride and groom, the family and friends, the parties, the food, you name it - it could not have been a more special weekend...except I did not take enough pictures! I snapped a few of the children around the actual ceremony so we don't have many to share - here is what I do have.

First Day of School

MDO at St. Luke's in Birmingham - 2007 - 10 months old

MDO at Good Shepard Day School in Charleston
2008 - 22 mos. old

MDO at Good Shepard - 2009 - 2 1/2 years old

Sorry Megan for stealing your idea, but I wanted to post Charles' past first days of school over three years. He has grown so much! From the little one year old who cried every time I left and fell asleep on the way home to the 2 1/2 year old running in the door this year, it has been a major change! He loves, loves, loves it. He goes two days a week - he loves chapel on Wednesdays - listening to Bible stories with the same Bible we have at home and singing his beloved Bible songs. He enjoys reading time (he's still my little bookworm), playing outside, playing with his friends, painting with his hands, and helping Mrs. Leah. I miss the time he is gone, but it's great to have special time with just Frances. She loves going grocery shopping and playing with her toys all by herself. I decided not to put her in a MDO program yet - maybe next year. It's funny how much easier taking one child on errands is rather than two.
