Captain Charles

Here is a cutie pic from this past weekend in Augusta. We surprised Jacob's father for his 60th birthday. All 7 children, 3 spouses (one couldn't make it) and 7 grandchildren were there to celebrate - dinner on Friday night and a day at the lake on Saturday - such great memories. And another thing - C went tubing with his daddy! I can't believe I said yes to him going, but he did great and wasn't scared at all.

Our New Pastime

Below are some pics from the beach - our new favorite pastime - I feel so blessed to live 20 minutes from the beach - at least for a while. Charles and Frances both love it - the sand, ocean, the birds, the people. It was so funny last week - Charles took some of his snack and put it on some random girl's (cute college-age) towel. When she noticed, she thought it was so cute and played with him for 30 minutes - making sand castles and taking him in the water - I hope the girl crushes are not already beginning...

What I found after nap

About 3 days a week Charles decides he is not going to nap...instead he is being creative in the confines of his own room. This is what I found on Thursday - 6 socks on each foot! Is it normal for a 2 1/2 old to not nap every day???

A-Town

Below are some pictures of our recent trip to Athens and Atlanta. It was so nice to have a mini family vacation. It was fun to memory lane in Athens with Jacob and to see what Charles gets excited about away from home - the hotel pool, free cookies, new parks, Uncle Michael, his cousin Lulla! And Frances is always along for the ride of course - still such an easy and sweet baby!

Here are some pictures from Easter, a little late. I can never remember to post to Facebook and to the blog at the same time, so one is always behind. Our Easter was great - nice to have time to reflect on Holy Week from Palm Sunday to Easter...it was all so special and wonderful.

Palm Sunday

Here are some pictures after church on Sunday - I love how our church makes such a huge emphasis on Holy Week - beginning on Palm Sunday on to Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and finally Easter, it is such a monumental week with such monumental events.
